Thanks for the kudos
“This pair of East Bay moms, Sarah Becker and Brenna Shafizadeh, have tackled the big question- What am I going to do with the little one today? And with an assist from the Mount Diablo Mother’s Club, the city of Walnut Creek and local businesses, they’ve compiled toddling Around Mount Diablo. Its got the lowdown on local parks, toddler storytimes, great kid-friendly museums.”

This Month's Article
Located at 221 Fourth Street in San Francisco, Zeum is a multimedia and technology museum. Hmmmm… Perhaps this doesn’t sound like a place to take your favorite toddler. “Multimedia” and “technology”…those are such big words for a little person, right? Reconsider! For this museum, designed to “foster creativity and innovation in young people,” (according to their brochure) was itself designed by some very creative people. They’ve done an impressive job creating a place that will delight both toddlers and teens, and everyone in between- and above, dear moms and dads! And in fact, we were happy to see children of all ages there, from strollers to teens, during our weekday visit. Additionally, the children and their parents were learning while having a fun and unique experience. It can happen for you…
For example, how about letting your child make their own Claymation video? Or creating a music video? Amazingly, your child can do this! They will need some help, of course. But Zeum is well staffed with lots of friendly people, and their equipment is extremely user-friendly. For the music videos, they even have an impressive listing of preschool songs for our little ones to enjoy singing. So even if they aren’t yet able to read the teleprompter, they will probably know the words to one of their favorite songs. Once their video creations are made, the staff will email them to you so you can view them at home, and share them with friends. Of course, we had to ask, and the answer was a definite “no”: they will not use your email for further marketing purposes. Phew! Other favorite activities included the dance videos, the Lego wall, and the carrousel (located outside), just to name a few. So grab your camera, don’t forget the kids, and zoom on over to Zeum.
